Though its a very old saying that readers are leaders and leaders are readers but somehow I feel that its true in every sense. For me and everyone who has achieved anything in their lives, reading has been an essential part of their lives. It is also said that the moment you stop reading/learning your growth stops(mentally not physically) so if you want to lead a successful and happy life, keep learning, keep reading and keep growing.
However, the biggest problem is no one tells you what to read...
I've tried to compile a list of the best books that I've found so far that cover various aspects of life and learning.
The Magic of Thinking BIG - written by Dr. David J Shwatrz
One of the most read and most informative book ever written. This book not only talks about our thought process, but also talks about life in general. Its an amazing book to read for people who are in jobs, in businesses, housewives, students and politicians. This book is so comprehensive and so detailed that every time I read, it I get something more out of it. Even though its more than 50 years old but every word of it still applies in today's world. Just this one book can make a major impact on anybody's life... no matter what their profession and what situation they may be in.
Skill with People- written by Les Giblin
This is a small and handy book, yet very very powerful. You can finish reading within 15-20 minutes. However, if you start using what it says... your relationships with the people around you; within your family; within your workspace; within your community will improve and people would actually start liking you more than they ever did. This is one book that you can read on a daily/weekly basis and still keep learning every time you read it.
Rich Dad Poor Dad - written by Robert Kiyosaki
Rich Dad Poor Dad is one book that everyone who is into earning money should read, especially students and MBA aspirants. This book is an eye opener for people who are on the money trail and think of making it big in the matters related to money. Robert Kiyoaski is one guy who has done it and then he's teaching it, its not just someone who talks about money and how it flows without having any practical knowledge about it. If you're serious about your financial education, this is one book you cant afford to miss.
Personality Plus- written by Florence Littauer
I've talked about this book quite a few times in other article. This book is all about understanding your personality and understanding why some people see you the way you dont want them to, mostly because they're blinded by their own personality type or mostly because we are blinded by our own personality type. This book is a marriage saver if both the partners read it and start understanding each others personalities. This book would also help you to a great extent in your professional life as it would help you in understanding and dealing with people around you.
Five Love Languages - written by Dr Gary Chapman
This book is all about relationships after marriage. Why do relationships tend to fall apart after 2-3 years in marriage. What happens so drastic when they have kids that they forget the reason they got married to each other. What are the problems and what is the cure, there couldn't have been a simpler book that could demystify life after marriage than this one. Read it if you want to have a long lasting marriage or a satisfying relationship.
